FAQ'S

We predominantly use MDF to build the client’s bespoke furniture. The reasons we use this engineered wood is down to its durability and versatility. Engineered wood is hard to crack or flex and is generally smooth meaning it is easier to sand, prime and hand-painted without having to worry about knots in the finished product.

Due to the nature of bespoke carpentry and that it is fitted precisely to the client’s space no matter how wonky the ceiling, walls and floors may be we always build and fit on-site. However we pre-cut the wood off-site in our workshop and have this delivered to your home which does help to reduce the amount of dust and noise in your home. We do keep disruption to a bear minimum as we are very aware that more and more people are also working from home so we arrange things to get your work done as efficiently and quickly as possible.

We pride ourselves on our efficiency and time keeping. We are aware that our clients want the units to be built and installed as quickly as possible with no time wasted and that’s what we endeavour to do on each project. Depending on the size and complexity of the carpentry work we begin and complete within a satisfactory time frame whilst keeping the room tidy.

Once your enquiry has been answered either by phone or email or both:

  1. We book you in to measure up the space and go over your plans for your new furniture – discussing all options.
  2. Following on from there we will send you a full and detailed quotation.
  3. Once you’ve decided to go ahead your job will be scheduled in for the next available time.
  4. We will ask you for a 20% deposit and once this is paid we will send you drawings of your piece. At this time you have the opportunity to make any adjustments you want to your design; we will revise the drawings until you fully approve of them.

Built-In Wardrobes

Built-in wardrobes, a staple of British interior design, offer a host of advantages for homeowners looking to enhance both the functionality and aesthetics of their living spaces. These bespoke storage solutions are custom-built to fit seamlessly into any room, making the most efficient use of available space. By opting for built-in wardrobes, homeowners can achieve a clutter-free and organised environment, transforming their living spaces into havens of tranquillity.

One of the primary benefits of built-in wardrobes is their space-saving design. Unlike freestanding wardrobes that can be bulky and space consuming, built-in wardrobes are tailor-made to fit the exact dimensions of a room. This not only maximises storage capacity but also creates a more spacious and streamlined appearance. With a place for everything, from clothing and shoes, to accessories and bed linen, homeowners can keep their belongings neatly tidied away and easily accessible.

Finally, built-in wardrobes can be customised to suit the individual needs and preferences with interior fittings such as shelves, drawers, hanging rails, and shoe racks can be personalised to accommodate specific storage requirements. This level of personalisation allows for the creation of a wardrobe that not only complements the room’s décor but also enhances its overall functionality.

Bespoke Wardrobes

Opting for bespoke wardrobes offers a multitude of benefits for homeowners seeking unique, tailor-made storage solutions. One of the most significant advantages is the level of customisation they provide. With custom-made wardrobes, every aspect of the design is carefully crafted to match the homeowner’s specific needs and preferences.

From the choice of materials, finishes, and hardware to the interior layout with custom drawers, and hanging space, the result is a wardrobe that perfectly complements the room’s aesthetics and maximises storage efficiency. This level of personalisation ensures that no space is wasted, and the wardrobe becomes an integral part of the room’s overall design.

Bespoke wardrobes are built to last. Crafted by skilled reputable furniture makers, these wardrobes often feature high-quality materials and superior craftsmanship. The use of durable materials ensures longevity, making bespoke wardrobes a sound investment for the long term.

Ultimately, the benefits of bespoke-made wardrobes extend far beyond their functionality, enhancing both the beauty and functionality of a living space while reflecting the homeowner’s unique style and taste.

Slanted Loft Wardrobe

Having loft wardrobes designed to fit snugly into the eaves and under slanted ceilings presents a clever and space saving solution for homes with attic or loft bedrooms. One of the key benefits of such wardrobes is their ability to make the most of otherwise underused areas.

The sloping ceilings and eaves often render these spaces impractical for traditional freestanding furniture, but with custom-built loft wardrobes, every inch of available space can be optimised for storage. This not only maximises the use of the room but also helps keep the space organised and clutter-free.

By following the natural lines of the eaves and sloping ceilings, these wardrobes seamlessly blend into the room’s architecture, creating a cohesive and visually pleasing design. They can be designed with doors that match the angle of the ceiling, providing a clean and unobtrusive appearance. The result is a room that feels more spacious and harmonious while offering ample storage space, making loft wardrobes an excellent choice for loft conversions, or any space with unconventional ceiling heights.

Corner Wardrobes

To optimally utilise the often overlooked corner space in your bedroom for wardrobes, consider installing a custom-built corner fitted wardrobe unit. The precise fit of the wardrobe eliminates the need for unsightly gaps or awkward spaces, contributing to a polished and cohesive interior design.

These specially designed wardrobes are tailored to fit seamlessly into the corner making efficient use of the available space and eliminate any unsightly gaps or awkward gaps contributing to a polished and cohesive design.

Incorporating shelving, hanging rods, and drawers within the unit to maximise storage capacity you can add your personality on the side too. Additionally, consider adding mirrored doors or lighting to enhance both functionality and aesthetics. By transforming the corner of your bedroom into a dedicated wardrobe space, you not only declutter the room but also create a stylish and practical storage solution that complements your overall bedroom design.

Multiple Functional Wardrobes

Wardrobes are not merely storage units for clothing; they have the potential for multiple functional uses that can transform a bedroom or living space. Beyond their primary purpose of organising garments, wardrobes can serve as versatile pieces of furniture that enhance the overall functionality of a room. One common secondary function is as a dressing area. Many wardrobes come equipped with mirrors on their doors or even integrated vanity units, providing a convenient space for getting ready, applying makeup, or arranging accessories.

This dual functionality can streamline one’s daily routine and help keep the bedroom clutter-free.

Additionally, wardrobes can be adapted for use in other rooms beyond the bedroom. In the kitchen, for instance, a wardrobe-style pantry can provide ample storage for non-perishable items, cookware, and kitchen gadgets. In the living room, a well-designed wardrobe can house entertainment equipment, books, and even serve as a display unit for decorative items. The versatility of wardrobes makes them indispensable in creating organised and efficient spaces throughout the home, far beyond their traditional role in the bedroom.

Alcove Wardrobes

In Georgian and Victorian homes in London, there are many built-in fireplaces no longer in use but as part of the home the chimney creates natural alcoves in rooms across the house. Also, with being an older house, the walls and chimney breast may not be vertically straight so by building bespoke wardrobes to fit these normally underutilised spaces means you can use those spaces for two wardrobes – one for you and one for your partner.

Customising each wardrobe to your own style with clothing rails, mirrors to the inside of the doors and ample shelves you can safely organise and store all your clothes, accessories and shoes. A bonus to fitting furniture flush to each wall in the bedroom alcoves stops dust collecting and also saves on precious floor space.

Walk-In Wardrobes

In some larger bedrooms there is a space to fit walk-in wardrobes or a nook to build walk-in wardrobes. Whatever the space specifications, we can help bring your ideal closet dream to life that reflects your personal style. From fitting ample shelves for shoes and hats to pull out drawers for sweaters and t.shirts, to clothing rails to two tier clothing rails to maximise on hanging space for dresses and shirts and of course not to forget a full length mirror to be able to check your outfit of the day in.

With organising solutions and space-saving hacks our designers will hand-craft your walk-in wardrobe which will end up being your favourite place to, well, walk into.

Kid's Wardrobes

Bespoke children’s wardrobes offer a host of advantages that cater specifically to the needs and preferences of growing children. One of the primary benefits is the ability to create a wardrobe that adapts to a child’s changing requirements. Children’s clothing and storage needs evolve as they grow, and custom-made wardrobes can be designed with adjustable shelving, hanging space, and drawers to accommodate these changes.

This flexibility ensures that the wardrobe remains purposeful and relevant as your child progresses from infancy to adolescence, providing a long-term storage solution that grows with them.

Furthermore, custom-made kids’ wardrobes allow for creative and imaginative design choices. From themed decor to vibrant colours and personalised embellishments, parents and children can collaborate to design a wardrobe that reflects the child’s personality and interests. This not only adds a fun and engaging element to the bedroom but also fosters a sense of ownership and pride in their space. Whether it’s a wardrobe designed to resemble a fairy tale castle or one adorned with their favourite superhero motifs, custom-made kids’ wardrobes can turn storage into an exciting and cherished part of a child’s room, making tidying up a more enjoyable task for both parents and children alike.

Custom Wardrobes

Generally new-build fitted wardrobes are not suited to the individual’s needs. So, with a bespoke wardrobe, you can discover a new level of organisation and efficiency in your bedroom!

Now there is always the design-it-yourself wardrobe from our blue and yellow Swedish cousins or that lovely one you saw in one of the major high street brands, but there is still the fact that they can’t always perfectly fit your space and maximise the potential of your rooms.

Often people have trouble with storing their suitcases or smaller bags and we find that in many cases when you have a relatively high ceiling we can make the most of it by building on higher level cupboards above the wardrobe hanging space which can solve this and in a beautiful and subtle way.

With a custom-fit wardrobe you can specify, to the centimetre, the length of each hanging space – this for ladies is an important factor – long dresses and coats are often brushing the floor of some wardrobes or even having to be folded up on a hanger in order to fit – sometimes even with pegs to hold them in place!

Then you can make the wardrobe flush to the wall – despite any size of skirting board. This can allow us to reduce how far the wardrobe sticks into your room. You can decide how obtrusive or unobtrusive your wardrobe will be. But often just the look of a flush-to-the-wall wardrobe looks unobtrusive as it appears to be part of the room upon initial inspection. Also by matching the paint colour of the wardrobe with your walls you create a seamless feel and the appearance of more space. Our in-house designer can accommodate for this.

So that leads us to the fun part – colours and doors! You can change the feel of a room with the outer look of your bespoke wardrobe. Bespoke carpentry I always think looks high-end whatever the finish but you can pick to your taste. If you prefer the traditional look with panel doors style you can get those but these can be simple or more complex depending if you like the panel style with beading – and what kind of beading. Then you can have glass inserts or mirrors affixed to your doors. With bespoke furniture you are not limited in the range of doors you can have.

Then you have the colour of your room – you can do whatever you like! The custom wardrobe can match the colour of the walls of your room and blend in or it can stand out on its own – bold colours that contrast with the rest of the room are more and more popular.

So whether you want a statement piece or a more subtle piece you can have it with a bespoke, fitted wardrobe.

Fitted Wardrobes

We’ve found that many people moving into a new-build home have in-built wardrobes in their bedrooms but these often take the form of a large partition wall and a set of doors which don’t have shelves, cupboards or drawers tailored to your needs – just a big empty shell. Also you’d be surprised by the fact that often the doors don’t actually help you maximise the space all the way to the ceiling and instead cut off much lower than the actual accessible space of the wardrobe – we often have clients asking us to knock this top part out so we can create a useful cupboard.
