Terms and Conditions

Introduction

These Terms and Conditions apply to all quotations, agreements, and services provided by BESPOKE CARPENTRY LONDON (“we”, “us”, “our”) in relation to bespoke carpentry and associated works. By accepting a quotation or engaging our services, the customer (“you”, “the client”) agrees to be bound by these terms.

Quotations and Acceptance
All quotations are valid for 90 days from the date issued unless otherwise stated. Acceptance of a quotation confirms agreement to the scope of work, pricing, and these Terms and Conditions.

Scope of Work
The work carried out will be detailed in the quotation. Any additional work or variations requested may be subject to additional charges and revised timelines.

Payment Terms
Payment terms will be outlined in the quotation. We reserve the right to request deposits prior to commencement, with remaining balances due as agreed. We will only schedule your painting work upon receipt of the 40% part payment at the end of the carpentry work.

Scheduling and Installation
Furniture construction dates will be agreed in advance after approval of Technical Drawings. While we aim to meet all scheduled dates, timelines may be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances.

Parking
Client is responsible for providing parking for the full duration of the work for both carpenters and painters. If a carpenter or a painter receives a parking ticket due to client error then the client is liable for the full value of the parking ticket.

Painting and Finishing Services
Where painting or finishing services are included as part of the quotation:

  • The client must notify us at the point where they agree their start date for carpentry installation if they wish to cancel or add the painting portion of the agreement.
  • We reserve the right to change the date of carpentry installation from any originally proposed date if painting is added or removed from the invoice.
  • Failure to provide the required notice may result in a fee of £375 being applied due to prior scheduling, material preparation, or labour allocation.
  • We cannot guarantee availability to undertake painting works immediately after carpentry completion. This is due to the nature of our scheduling and project commitments.

Client Responsibilities
The client is responsible for ensuring that the work area is accessible, clear, and ready for construction on the agreed date. Delays caused by site conditions may incur additional charges to cover any loss of labour time. If any dismantling or disposal of existing furniture is needed the client is responsible for informing the office manager at the time of agreeing the date for furniture construction.

Cancellations and Changes
Any cancellations or changes to the agreed work must be made in writing. We reserve the right to retain up to 50% of the deposit value for any labour and material costs incurred up to the point of cancellation.

Liability
We will carry out all work with reasonable care and skill. However, we are not liable for:

  • Pre-existing structural or material defects such as mould or rising damp which would need to be fixed in advance of us building any furniture in your house.
  • If we are requested to dismantle existing furniture we cannot be liable for any damage that occurs to any adjacent walls or ceiling.
  • Damage caused by factors outside our control
  • Wear and tear from normal usage following completion
  • In circumstances where the ceiling or flooring is slanted we can’t guarantee your furniture measurements will be exactly as per your design.

Warranty
We provide a 5 year workmanship warranty on our carpentry services, subject to normal use.

Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
